UNION PACIFIC STEAM -- CHALLENGER PORTRAITS
Soft cover by James L. Ehernberger by Challenger Press 1993

The Union Pacific Railroad developed the first 4-6-6-4 type locomotives and they were named Challenger. This was during an era when anything was a challenge, the Great Depression of the 1930s. It was an era where higher speed locomotives were needed to compete with trucks. UPR obtained 105 of this class and they were used mostly on the heavier traffic routes and on routes where extra power was required. Robust, professional packaging and tracking provided for all parcels.
